Create an instance from a bootable volume
- Under Volumes→Volumes, click the "Create Volume" button.
- Fill out the "Volume Name" field with the name of the volume.
- Pick "Volume Source", pick "Image" and the pick which image under "use image as a source"
- Pick the storage type:
- For storage types, at PSNC and Safespring, please see Storage types.
- Pick size of the volume.
- Just leave default on "Availability Zone" and "Group".
- Click "Create Volume" at the bottom.
- You are returned to the volume listing page. Click the dropdown meny arrow at the end of the row for you newly created volume.
- Choose "Launch as Instance".
- You are now presented with the same dialoge as in "Create a virtual machine (instance) from image".
- On the "Source" page, be sure to pick the option "Volume" under "Select Boot Source", and then you newly created volume under the listing below.
- Under "Flavor", be sure to pick a flavor with no local disk, i. e 0 GB (zero) in the "Root Disk" column.
- Proceed as you would to create a regular instance.
